ABOUT THE STRATFORD ANIMAL RESCUE SOCIETY
The Stratford Animal Rescue Society (S.T.A.R.S.) was founded in September 2000 to promote the welfare of animals housed in the Stratford Town Animal Shelter. With the unanimous support of the Stratford Town Council, this all volunteer, nonprofit organization was launched with the mission of facilitating and expediting adoptions of shelter animals. They also raise funds through private donations and public fundraisers to provide food and medical care for the shelter's animals.
The Stratford Animal Rescue Society works with Stratford Animal Control to conduct fundraisers and other events. They work together to train and socialize animals, and pay medical costs including those associated with important spay and neuter procedures. They also provide animals with needed human interaction, before placing them in loving homes.
Because they are an all volunteer organization, The Stratford Animal Rescue Society calls on caring people willing to walk dogs, transport them to events, and participate in events such as adoption days, bake sales, tag sales and more. Volunteers must be 18 or older. Contact Stratford Animal Rescue Society for information on how you can make a difference in dogs' lives through volunteering.
